Downtown Getting More Rooftop Fun: Lounge, Restaurant Planned For Pershing Square Building

Rendering from Pershing Square Building

Seems LA is finally jumping on this rooftop lounge trend. Of course the Standard Hotel comes to mind first, but now we have The Kress in Hollywood, ABH at the Thompson in Beverly Hills, and Takami downtown. This isn't immediately on the horizon, but now add to that list the lounge planned for the roof of the Pershing Square Building on Hill near 5th Street downtown. Per Angelenic, work has already begun to "create 8,700 square feet of entertainment space and an observation deck on three separate levels." The renderings show the roof's architecture will match the building's original look (archways, detailing, glass balconies). But that's not all: There will also be a restuarant on the ground floor and a speakeasy-style bar in the basement, which was once a coffee shop. Now the question is who will take these spots?
