Drink This: Cafe Romano

Drink This is NBCLA's weekly taste of local sips

Your job: get to the bar. Our job: Help you find that perfect drink. This week, NBCLA's "Drink This" journey takes us out for...

The Cafe Romano: Cream swirled into a grown-up beverage always feels a bit like an indulgence. And a bit like a harbinger of cooler weather. The Cafe Romano is full of creamy deliciousness, plus Sambuca Romano and Tia Maria. And nutmeg, another harbinger. Once cream and nutmeg start appearing together, best break out the gloves and scarf.

Who's pouring: Dominick's Restaurant in West Hollywood. The bar is perfectly cozy and Rat Pack-ish. The back patio, with its homey fireplace, feels ready for a third date. Maybe second date, if the first outing was spectacular.

Price: $10

Seasonal tidbit: It's only offered in the fall and winter at the Beverly Boulevard nitery.

What else: Dominick's is celebrating The Feast of San Gennaro from September 15th-18th. Special Gennaro-ready foods, like pork braciole, will be available at cheap-ish, street-festival prices (and no need to stroll and eat; you can dine sitting down). Finish up your meal with a gelato, or, of course, that Cafe Romano. Both?
