It's kind of a local thing. You're in a movie theater, watching a film, and there, a few rows ahead of you, is one of the stars of the film, also watching the film.
Like an eternity mirror, or simply a really interesting moment. Such a moment is going to happen on Sunday, Nov. 21, only there will be delicious food involved, and a swanky restaurant setting.
Chef Eric Greenspan will be cooking an "Iron Chef America"-inspired tasting menu at The Foundry on Melrose that night; guests will then watch Chef Greenspan in a cook-off with Chef Bobby Flay when "Iron Chef America" airs at 9 p.m. You'll actually be seeing some of the foods you just ate recreated by the same person on television.
How often do you watch a cooking show, having just eaten essentially what is being whipped up on screen? Not often, we'll wager. We'd call this an excellent early holiday present for your favorite foodie.
The price is $125 per person. (Tax and tip will be extra, natch.) Dinner seating is at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21, "Iron Chef America" starts at 9 p.m.
