Eater Sneak Peek: Riva

The paper has finally been removed from the windows at Riva in Santa Monica revealing a nice looking space for Jason Travi & Co.'s new Italian restaurant. Nice space, clean, simple; pizzas are obviously a specialty, as noted by the menu above the open kitchen. A reader sent us a report from friends and family this weekend: "The wood fire pizzas taste like they were flown in from Naples. Crudo, grilled quail, chestnut soup for appetizers...Trout salmon, john dory, and tiramisu. It opens on Monday night to the public, quietly... " We have not entirely confirmed that Riva will open to the public tonight---Travi was vague when we asked him last week---but if not today, then tomorrow. Softly. SMers, keep your eyes peeled.
