La Bistecca To Open In Biltmore Hotel, Chow to Move Into Dolce Space, Kogi Backlash Begins

The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...

DOWNTOWN: Now, keep in mind that The Biltmore Hotel's new "upscale" restaurant may be part PR hype. But the hotel says it is opening a new Italian-style steakhouse, La Bistecca, next Thursday . The restaurant will feature six different steaks, priced from $36-$48. Recession be damned.

WEST HOLLYWOOD: Before Dolce had a chance to announce it was moving (or closing?), Philippe Chow announces he's opening his first West Coast restaurant in the (soon to be former) Dolce space. The upscale Chinese restaurant is slated to open in September.

LA/OC: Let the Kogi backlash begin! First we learn the Korean taco truck's PR rep has a lot to learn about the delicate art of public relations. Then Orange County decides the truck can't cross the Orange Curtain without the proper permitting paperwork. Chef Choi seems to be working on getting permission from local agencies from select OC cities.
