SANTA MONICA: A couple weeks ago we heard Jason Travi was getting ready to debut Riva, his new Italian spot on Wilshire Boulevard (in the former Scarboni space), in a couple weeks, which puts us at about…today. A reader sends word: "The restaurant will open early next week, maybe as early as Monday." Calls/emails have been placed. [Eater Inbox]

CAHUENGA PASS: Metromix has some dish on a new bar from Craig Trager (The Well, The Woods, The Fifth)---something called El Bar---but doesn't say where it is. We have it on good authority (i.e. licensing permits) that Trager has his hands on the Bridge on Cahuenga, which is probably better known as the former Casting Office (before it moved down the street). El Bar will "pay homage to Spanish culture with pitchers of sangria and bullheads mounted on the wall" and probably open in December. [Metromix]For more stories from Eater LA, go to la.eater.com.
