Molecular Gastronomy Ramen, Rumored New Sang Yoon Spot

TORRANCE— Does molecular gastronomy apply to ramen? It does now, at the almost opened Ramen California, still currently in soft opening phase. The restaurant was conceived by Japanese visionary chef Shigetoshi “Sean” Nakamura, who has written a slew of books on the zen of dashi, is pals with the revered Ferran Adria, and who has transformed the conventions of traditional ramen at his restaurants in Tokyo and Kanagawa. He strives to do the same at his overseas outpost using local California ingredients. [Rameniac]

CULVER CITY— Also on the somewhat noodle front, The Jazz Bakery has surrendered its liquor license and is on the hunt for a new home somewhere between West LA and Bev Hills. In the meantime, rumor has it that Sang Yoon might be taking over the space to introduce a new noodle concept. Whatever Mr. Father's Office does, everyone in town will likely know very soon. FRANKLIN AVE— Locali's The Icycle ice cream bike has been taking on a new route everyday, but it's finally about to set a firm daily route. Until then, continue to follow the adult tricycle on Twitter. We will update you with its new route info asap. [EaterWire]
