SANTA MONICA—On Wilshire, the old Holly's West has been bought by the folks behind Zanizibar, Little Temple Bar and the Temple Bar (RIP). SILVER LAKE—For today's lasting image, Jonathan Gold says Barbrix's fried sweetbreads "go down like pancreatic popcorn." That is all. [LAW]

SANTA MONICA—Ready for summer, Viceroy has announced some pretty notable deals, namely in the form of new happy hour "Summer Fridays" poolside at the Cameo Bar. Drinks are priced based on the hour of the day (example: $2 at 2pm). Also: $2 fried chicken and biscuit sliders. [LAist]

INTERNET—OpenTable's IPO opened today, and it was quite the event: "OpenTable's shares were up 50% to $30 by late Thursday afternoon, after being priced above the planned IPO range of $16-$18." Whether OT can sustain the early boom, however, remains to be seen. [MarketWatch]
