Echo Park Residents Not Hip To New Cellphone Towers

We've seen other cases of communities fighting cell phone towers and now comes word that T-Mobile wants to put up twelve 55-foot towers on the roof of the apartment building (pictured) at 1551 Echo Park Avenue (just a few doors down from coffee shop Chango and near that new residential development. Twelve? All on that roof? The flyer warns that towers have been known to cause everything from childhood leukemia to sterility, and asks that residents sign an online petition. There's a public hearing Monday, October 20th, too.
