So much has been made about the need to find alternative fuels to get around. Despite the fact that we have seen the price of gas start a slow decline over the past few weeks -- at around 4 bucks a gallon it is still far ahead of where it was a year ago. One local family decided not to wait. They bought an old car, took it apart, and built their own electric car. O.K.... it certainly is not as easy as it looks, but with a little technical knowledge and the help of your teenage son - anything is possible. Now this family gets around on Southern California streets and freeways at just pennies a mile.
