Elvis Costello. Live. Amoeba Music. Monday, June 22nd

Much like Phil Collins did at "Live Aid" -- is that going too far back? -- Elvis Costello is going for two concerts in two cities on the same day. (Lest we forget our rock history, the plucky drummer performed at both American and British "Live Aid" concerts, zipping about the globe in his plucky, Phil Collins-esque manner.)

Mr. Costello, that thoughtful, introspective, bespectacled bard that no one doesn't like, will be doing the same. And while San Francisco and Los Angeles are a wee bit closer together than Philadelphia and London, we are impressed none the less.

Details: San Francisco concert's at Amoeba Music at noon on Monday, June 22nd. Hollywood concert is at 8PM on Monday, June 22nd (also at Amoeba). Can he make it? Will he stop somewhere on the 5 Freeway for a pecan log and get waylaid? Probably not, as he's flying.

He's promoting "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane"; there will be signing of CDs and singing. Singing, Costello people. And it is Amoeba, so save your bucks for the CD purchase; getting in to see Elvis Costello is free.
