Most winter resorts don't cater to hardcore skiers and riders as well as first-timers. But Sierra-at-Tahoe is anything but your average ski and snowboard destination.

With everything from beginner-only lifts and a Burton Star Wars™  Experience to epic backcountry acreage and acclaimed terrain parks, Sierra-at-Tahoe serves up something for everyone. Add 400+ inches of annual snowfall, spectacular glade skiing and a new $5 million base facility, and you've got the perfect California ski experience for your next winter getaway.

But before you click into your skis or strap into your board, let's take a virtual tour to see what the simple life in the mountains truly has to offer.

The Mountain
Expert skiers and snowboarders flock to Sierra-at-Tahoe thanks to the abundant deep and steep terrain. For a backcountry experience, head to Huckleberry Canyon, where you can enjoy 320 acres of cliffs, cornices, chutes, tree-skiing and powdery bowls. Don't feel like venturing through the gates on your own? Then book a Backcountry Tour and let an expert lead the way.

Snowboarders will love Sierra's five terrain parks, which were ranked top 10 in the country by TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine. Each features an array of creative jumps, jibs and other features.

But Sierra-at-Tahoe isn't just for certified rippers. Committed to helping the snow sports industry grow and retain first-time skiers and riders, Sierra-at-Tahoe offers lessons in a hassle-free environment, where guests will feel comfortable trying the sport and, most importantly, enjoying it. Over 100 acres are dedicated to learning, including two magic carpets, a high-speed quad and a Learn To Ride center, while experienced instructors teach guests on sculpted, contour-based Smart Terrain™ optimized for beginners. Book a lesson with one of Sierra-at-Tahoe's world-class ski and snowboard instructors here.

Burton Star Wars Experience
Kids have it even better with the Burton Star Wars™ Experience, a learning park that combines Burton's industry-leading technology with the captivating visuals and storytelling from the Star Wars saga. Already a big success among three to six year olds, who progress from Younglings to Padawans at Yoda's Riglet Park, the Star Wars learning experience is now available at Echo Base for seven to 12 year olds. There, they'll learn to defeat the Dark Side while shredding like a true Jedi alongside R2D2, Chewbacca and other iconic characters from a galaxy far far away. To book a lesson for your future Jedi shredder, click here or call 530-543-3150.

Solstice Plaza
Every seasoned skier and rider knows that the après scene is just as important as the slopes. Thankfully, Sierra-at-Tahoe's new Solstice Plaza delivers. Soak in the vibes from the sprawling new sun deck, or hit Golden Bear Terrace for an al fresco craft beer and some California-centric barbecue. There's also Solstice Eatery, located in the brand new plaza, known for its internationally flavored ancient grains bowls -- sure to replenish the calories you torched on the hill.

Powder Alliance
Just when you thought Sierra-at-Tahoe's Unlimited Pass couldn't get any better, now skiers and snowboarders will also become members of the Powder Alliance, which gains you access to 36 free days of ripping at North America's best mountain resorts.
