Eye Art: Silver Lake Art Crawl and Inglewood Open Studios Tour

SILVER LAKE ART CRAWL: Saunter through 25 galleries and soak in a bevy of works from a host of genres and mediums. Paintings are a part of the visual feast, yes, but so are toys, clothes and comics. Participating galleries in the Art Crawl, which has been around for over a decade, include La Luz de Jesus (it never fails -- we always find something we desperately want in that magical space). Tunes and receptions round out the eye-pleasing, brain-tickling weekend. Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, 11AM-9PM (hours may vary if galleries are a-rockin'). Check out the site for official map (a goodly chunk of the action is sprinkled along Sunset, fyi).

INGLEWOOD OPEN STUDIOS TOUR: Curious how artists work before that sculpture or photograph reaches the gallery wall? Stroll through 15 studios and get to know the creative processes of the people behind the brush and camera. Artists include Claudia Parducci (who has created paintings inspired by Morse Code) and Dustin Shuler (we like his pieces situating small boats in unexpected spaces). Many of the studios are located along Hyde Park Boulevard or West Boulevard, just west of Crenshaw. Saturday, November 8, 2-7PM. (Check out a full map of the tour)
