Fa La La, L.A. Live

LEDs lead the way at L.A. Live's outdoor rink.

Seriously, with all the ice-rinkage now open around Los Angeles, you'd think we lived somewhere a smidge less balmy.

And we love it. Cheerful and all that. The latest rink to debut is the outdoor ice at L.A. Live, the center's first outdoor rink open to the public. It bowed on Thursday, December 3rd, complete with appearances from Sheila E. and LeAnn Rimes.

Though the party's wrapped, the rink is still open for business, and will be through December 31st. Adding to the nighttime vibe: LED touches -- this is L.A. Live, of course -- plus fifty 10-foot angels around the property.

There are, in fact, some 265,400 LED lights on trees around L.A. Live.

With Pershing Square just a few blocks away, our question is this: Can you do both in the same night? A possibility. Just remember to remove your skates between rinks. Concrete and asphalt and all that.
