If you've been to Hollywood lately, you've likely been to the Chinese Theatre or near it. And if you've been near it, you've seen the new building to the west. No secret to what it is: Madame Tussauds, the venerable wax museum that gained international fame in London and other points around the globe, is setting up shop in Hollywood.
And since wax figures typically depict the famous -- although we'd probably line up just to see not-famous guys named Steve and Mike, too -- it fits that the MT is landing on the HB. After all, Hollywood Boulevard is the heart of it all, right? Still. It all=the glamour, the business, the premieres, the tourists, the red carpets.
A quick peek at some of the sneak-peek pics revealed Colin Farrell, Beyonce, Jim Carrey, Clint Eastwood. Clint's nearly trademarked gaze and a bit of stubble on Colin are in evidence. Fun. The museum bows officially on August 1, just in time for the last of the summer crowds.
But really, it is Hollywood Boulevard. Visitors are back for every premiere, every opening, the Oscars, and for that we are glad.
