Behold the Launch of L.A.'s Own Eco Shopping Deal Site

West Hollywood-based eco-shopping site LovingEco launched today, giving locals and not-so-locals access to a social media and shopping platform that offers up chic, eco-friendly gear at up to 70 percent off retail.

Think of it as kind of a green Gilt Group of sorts: LovingEco works it's magic via limited-time, brand-specific sale events. Expect fashion and accessory flash sales from top eco labels including Clary Sage Organics, Souchi, and Stewart + Brown, plus some beauty and even kid-friendly gear. Taking it one step further, 3 percent of net proceeds from each purchase is donated to support a social or environmental cause.

Angelenos Melinda Moore and Justine Lassoff co-founded the site (which launched today), the former a digital media and interior design expert, the latter an out-and-out marketing whiz. Tgether, the two biz rockstars shared wtih us their favorite things from the site:

Justine's Pick: "Cri de Coeur - The Stella in Nude. I like them because they are fun, sexy, vegan and great for the Summer!"

Melinda's Pick: "LovingEco Style for Change Tank - This is one of my favorites because it's really sexy, organic and 100% of proceeds support important environment and social causes."

Melinda's Pick: "I love the multi-strand 'Lady Sunbird' necklace from The Leakey Collection because it's beautiful and a true eco fashion statement. I love to pair it with my LovingEco Style for Change tank."

Justine's Pick: "Stewart + Brown's Organic Long Sleeve Lengthen Tee in Black Sand is one of my favorites because it is so soft, luxurious, and versatile."
