Festive Doings at Farmers Market

Last-minute shopping, and carolers to serenade you.

Its larger, newer neighbor -- that would be The Grove -- gets the lion's share of the spotlight during the holiday season (and, we see why, what with that can't-fit-it-into-one-camera-shot enormous tree and Santa's workshop). But sweet Farmers Market also gets merry, treating last-minute shoppers (or just people who want to come and eat and hang) to treats of the holiday.

What's on tap for Christmas week? Yuletide carolers will be roaming the old-fashioned stalls in the days leading up to Christmas, and, with the acoustics of the place, you won't need to follow them around; you'll get a good listen at pretty much any spot you decide to stop. Einstein Brown's Calypso Christmas Quartet gets the Plaza area (that's the clocktower by Cost Plus) moving from 2-4PM on Tuesday, December 22, while the Jumbo Shrimp Circus Holiday Hijinx visit at 1PM and 2PM on Wednesday, December 23rd.

Christmas Karaoke, Celtic Christmas music, and the Buckingham Toy Soldier Band are also ahead; check out the whole sked.

It's a celebratory spot any time of the year, but once the carolers arrive, and the bows and lights are up everywhere, the whole hug-your-neighbor, feel-the-magic-of-the-moment thing goes through the Market's open-air roof.
