A reader first pointed them out, a commenter guessed the origin, and now a representative from the LAPD confirms that yes, those fighter jets were Blue Angels and they're doing practice runs. Or that's what the OFFICIAL WORD is. Perhaps these jets are whisking all those subprime mortgages out of city and dumping them into the ocean. These photos were taken about an hour ago from the 5000 block of Sunset--the jets looked red, white and blue and were trailing smoke. UPDATE: They're not red, white and blue, but BLUE AND YELLOW, per LAPD.
