Find the Perfect Present (and Help the Planet)

Mid-December is crunch time as far as wrapping the whole shopping list up (especially if you have to ship). The Eco Gift Festival, on for three days at Santa Monica Civic, seeks to ease the only-five-more-people-to-buy-for stress, and do it in a way that positively impacts the planet, what lives on the planet, and everything else.

Dozens of vendors stock their booths with beautiful, quality, green-themed items that are made with thought, care, wit, and good stuff. Bambootique offers nifty bowls and cutting boards made of highly renewable bamboo, while EarthLust sells swanky stainless steel bottles, ideal for the beverage you've just got to carry everywhere. We like the organic teas and nice-to-the-face-and-body products, too. The upshot? The festival could not be more timely as people look for ways to stretch their holiday dollars while searching for presents with meaning and flair.

Arrive peckish, because healthy and tasty tidbits will be for sale from eateries such as M Cafe de Chaya; tunes and speakers (including Arianna Huffington) are also on the schedule.
