Freeway Shooting on the Santa Monica Freeway

Bullets come from a white Audi

CHP and LAPD officers are looking for a suspect driving a white Audi in a freeway shooting that occurred late Thursday afternoon. 

Authorities say the shooting occurred as a result of a dispute over an illegal drug transaction. 

The shooting began after the drug dispute between the drivers of two cars,  police told NBC4. 

One of the vehicles allegedly struck the other and the driver then jumped out and began shooting, according to investigators. 

The driver that struck the white Audi has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.  The gunman is still being sought.

The shooting took place at about 5:30 p.m., according to LAPD Officer Sara Faden. 

The incident was on the Crenshaw Blvd. westbound on-ramp to the Santa Monica I-10 Freeway in the Mid-City area. 

No injuries were reported. 

The driver of the Audi is described as between 18 and 25 years old.

Several cars were seen involved in the incident.
