French Gastronomy Week in San Diego

PRIX FIXE FINDS: Call it a mini Restaurant Week, with a focus on French specialties and San Diego's best bistros. But that's a bit of a mouthful, so call it by its proper name, which is Tour de Cuisine. Tour de Cuisine, which is described as a "French Gastronomy Week," is put together by the San Diego French-American Chamber of Commerce, highlights seven savory restaurants. Those restaurants will be offering prix fixe deals from Monday, March 28 through Saturday, April 2, and diners will have a chance to try for a trip to France.

THE EATERIES: French Market Grill, Hexagone, and La Bastide Bistro are three; find the whole list, with web site information. We like a Restaurant Week with a laser-like focus, and we wonder when full weeks celebrating various regional and traditional dishes of every land will become the norm around Southern California parts. We have Restaurant Weeks pretty frequently now; maybe they'll be themed on occasion?
