Gay Men's Chorus Holiday Spectacular Welcomes the Stars

Sheryl Lee Ralph and LeAnn Rimes will sing at the concerts.

When Christmas gets to be just about a weekish away, we check the calendar to make sure all of the anticipated standards of the season have made it back around for another year.

And one of the most anticipated on the cultural calendar are the holiday concerts from the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. We can trust that this favorite will always return, as it has done for over three decades (32 years, in fact). And while the chorus presents differently themed shows throughout the year, an especially festive spirit reigns at this always popular concert.

How popular? Well, Sunday, Dec. 19 concert is now sold out. There are two Saturday shows, on Dec. 18, and tickets are still available. The venue is once again the Alex Theatre in Glendale.

Oh, and Sheryl Lee Ralph and LeAnn Rimes are picking up the mic and lending some voice this year.

Plus, there will be elves, at least for one number. We need some elfage right now, to take us right into Christmas week. We also always admire the seriously handsome suits that have become standard wear for the chorus. And the beautiful harmonies and the heralds and the classics like "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Ave Maria" continue to stir. Get times/details here, and info on a cocktail reception with Ms. Ralph as well (that's Saturday; Ms. Rimes is performing at the sold-out Sunday show, note.)
