Haunting Old Town Haunt

A few more hauntings after the 31st.

We're always a bit stunned -- pleasantly stunned -- at the weird variety of Halloween-themed go-outs that spring up around our city every fall. Old Town Haunt, located in Pasadena, doesn't really surprise us though, when we see it go up each year. Maybe it is because the Crown City already seems so darn haunted, that this spooky attraction just fits right in. As if it had been up and running all year.

The setting of the foreboding Union Savings Bank Building, one of the oldest buildings in a city known for old buildings, is key for us. While we love all the creepy events set in various warehouses and front yards around town, Old Town Haunt's setting is something out of a movie. But the atmospheric building isn't enough for the Old Town Haunters -- they make you descend into the basement for your scares. Shudder.

Old Town Haunt is running through Sunday, November 1st in 2009, if you're looking for more Halloween after your Halloween. Note that the Sunday night hours -- 7-10PM -- are a bit shorter than the hours it has been keeping for most of October. And if you want more scares the day after Halloween, head for Shipwreck at the Queen Mary or Halloween Time at Disney Resort, which will both be celebrating through November 1st.
