Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards

Scholarship Deadline Approaching

High school seniors with an eye on college have a chance to win a coveted prize that puts money in the bank for school.    Applications for the 2009 Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards are being accepted now.    The process is open to graduating high school seniors with an un-weighted 3.0 G.P.A., and who can trace their ancestry to a Latin country. 

NBC Universal is a proud sponsor of the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards.  Grant money is given in the following categories: Academic Excellence, Business, Education (future teachers), Engineering and Mathematics, Journalism - supported by NBC Universal, Leadership, and Sports. 

In 2007, over $650,000 in awards were given to almost 300 young leaders across the country.   The deadline to submit applications is fast approaching.   Go to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation website for more information.
