Injured Celebs Leave “Dancing with the Stars”

LOS ANGELES -- Four days before the show season's premiere, two celebrities have dropped out of "Dancing with the Stars."

Pop Star Jewel and TV host Nancy O'Dell were injured during the rigorous daily rehearsals for the show. Jewel has a fractured tibia in both legs, and O'Dell, the host of "Access Hollywood," has a torn knee cartilage.

O'Dell will need surgery. Jewel is in crutches.

Network officials said the injuries were severe enough to prevent them from continuing with the show. The injured celebrities will still appear on the Monday's premiere show when additional changes to the cast will be announced.
