“IRIS” Tickets Go on Sale

The new Cirque show will bow in Hollywood next summer.

The news that the high-styling tumblers of Cirque du Soleil would be debuting a film-fantasy of a stage show at the Kodak Theatre made headlines in the early fall.

Now tickets are going on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 for "IRIS A Journey Through the World of Cinema." The spectacular, which considers moviedom in fantastic, colorful, diaphanous Cirque fashion, will premiere on July 21, 2011.

Some 72 performers will be feating it up; there will also be 200 costumes and several video projectors. In other words, grand fashion.

When "Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL WORLD TOUR" arrives at Staples Center in January 2012, will that mean that our city will have two Cirque du Soleil shows going at once? And could you do a matinee at one and an evening show at the other? Cirque-rrific indeed.
