Is Your Film In? Congrats. Now Where to Stay?

If the phone lines at various Park City resorts lit up in unison earlier today -- all from numbers with 310, 323 and 818 area codes -- that maybe had something to do with a little announcement from the Sundance Film Festival. The line-up of films for the 2009 festival was announced, and includes 118 feature-length films (chosen from over 3,600 submissions -- that's a big whoa) from the U.S. and points around the globe. The films are also heavy on the stars, both established and nearly-there -- Paul Giamatti, Hugh Dancy and Susan Sarandon are among the actors mentioned -- so expect plenty of shots of famous people in earmuffs in your February tabs.

But, save the filmmakers and people who will go there with a definite job to do -- introducing a film, hosting a Q& A -- the question around LA today is, when should I go, where will I stay and what will I see? Should I drive or fly? (We actually know a committed driver, who swears he can be in Utah in a blink.) And do I accept free swag? The swag shops, set up by various clothing/make-up/jewelry companies, have become a recent phenomenon now associated with the fest.

Whatever you decide, get dialing/typing -- Park City is still a wee mountain town, and those condos fill up fast. Oh, and congratulations on your film!
