The 8th Annual KFI 'Pasta-thon' which supports nonprofit organization Caterina’s Club is taking place on December 7, 2018 in Garden Grove, Calif. NBC4 Reporter Hetty Chang will also attend the food donation drive to support the effort. The event helps feed tens of thousands of children in need in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
An estimated 1.4 million people in L.A. County live with food insecurity - the most of any county in the nation, including more than 480,000 children. In Orange County, more than 301,000 people are at risk of hunger each month, including 1 in 6 children.
KFI's annual event helps support many children with 100 percent of proceeds from donations going to Caterina’s Club to feed kids in both counties. Since 2010, more than $1.8 million and 340,000 pounds of pasta and sauce have been provided to Caterina’s Club.
Caterina’s Club was founded by Anaheim White House restaurant owner Chef Bruno Serato. The organization feeds at least 20,000 kids a week at 80 locations in 26 cities in Southern California.
Join the donation drive event on Friday, December 7 at Christ Cathedral's Cultural Center, 13280 Chapman Ave Garden Grove, CA 92840. KFI will also broadcast live there from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
