La Jolla Festival of the Arts

200+: The expectations one has when visiting a large, annual summertime fine arts show are many. One counts on chatting up a few of the artists as they sit easel-side (or maybe we're just picturing them as being easel-adjacent). One counts on some live music, and maybe some stroll-worthy snacking. And one wants to see a lot of different art. The La Jolla Festival of the Arts will again deliver in those respects, as it has for the last quarter century. The 2011 party, which is happening on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, will feature a couple hundred artists working in all sorts of media.

PLUS: "Celebrity authors" and "classic cars" are also promised. Most intriguing this year? An artist-created meal inspired by non-edible art. There are several to-dos over the weekend, and, of course, La Jolla, which itself is pretty artwork-y, as city goes. Don't blush, La Jolla, you know this to be true.

ADMISSION: Ten dollars; also note art will be for sale.
