Welcome to Monday. It’s never too soon to start thinking about the weekend especially with so much going on this Sunday, October 24:
First up is the fifth annual LA Magazine Food Event from the Vine at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu from 1 to 4 P.M. The list of chefs and restaurants cover everyone from Akasha to Westside Tavern. Of course, the top wines of Malibu will also be poured. Later that afternoon, from 3 to 7 P.M. the second annual Taste of Abbot Kinney will bring the block together to sample great food from local eateries from Hal’s, Joe’s, Lilly’s and others. The Ludo truck and The Surfer Taco are just two of the mobile options, along with Zaca Mesa Winery and live entertainment. The afternoon will benefit Inside Out Community Arts.
If you have any energy left, head downtown to Drago Centro at 6 P.M. for The World Food Celebration. Celestino Drago, Walter Manzke, Alain Giraud, Alen Ramos and Carolyn Nugent are all pitching in with a dish for the five-course dinner benefiting the Lee Oneness Foundation, dedicated to providing food and water to impoverished children around the world.
