Members of the Lions Club of Orange successfully launched the "SOCKS AND SOAP" campaign to help the homeless community living in cars, by freeway passes, under bridges and in alleyways.
During the four-week campaign, the Lions Club collected more than 2,500 pairs of socks and bottles of shampoo for the needy. The effort comes at the heels of the unusual cold and rainy weather conditions recently experienced in Southern California and in response to the growing crisis of homelessness in the region. The Lions Club of Orange teamed up with Orange County Rescue Mission to ensure a quick and efficient distribution to those in need.
