Los Angeles Film Festival Highlight: June 24th

It's a pleasing thing to see a documentary about concerts at a place where concerts usually play, rather than a traditional movie theater. Feels meta, or meaningful, or a combination of the two, or something else entirely. In short, it fits.

"All Tomorrow's Parties," a documentary covering the ten-ish or so years of the alt-y new music festival jump-started by Belle & Sebastian, is screening at the Ford Amphitheatre at 8:30PM on Wednesday, June 24th. The musicians are the decision makers of these concerts, picking and choosing; probably a major reason they continue to have cred in a business where cred can come and go all too easily.

The footage: fan shot, artist shot, Super 8, phones, and so forth. Sonic Youth, Iggy and the Stooges, and Mogwai are featured. Expect beautiful hodgepodgery, and music-based fulfillment.
