Los Feliz's Triangle Park: Reviews Coming In

Last Sunday, two locals hanging out at that tiny pocket park at Hollywood Blvd. and Vermont Ave. offered some opinions on the design. "They made it skate-proof and bum-proof," said Zeke LaForest, pointing to the skate board-deterrent grooves on the park's surface. LaForest and friend Joseph Verbeck also debated the use of mulch over grass. Their conclusion: Mulch requires less water and makes for an uncomfortable night's sleep. Also, about that big rock? "I think the rock was there already," said Verbeck. Yes, it was. And the trees received positive reviews. Previously, the city said this $800,000 project—which began in May—would wrap by October, so we're going to call this park as just about there. Update: It was just pointed out the original rendering showed lots of grass, so it's not clear if the mulch will one day be replaced by sweet green grass.
