Macaulay Culkin's Sister Hit, Killed by Car in West LA

LOS ANGELES - Actor Macaulay Culkin's sister died at a hospital after being hit by a vehicle in the West Los Angeles area, authorities said Thursday.

Dakota Culkin, 29, died about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at UCLA Medical Center, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

According to the LAPD media relations office, Culkin stepped in front of a vehicle on Lincoln Boulevard about 11 p.m. Tuesday and was hit by a vehicle. The motorist stopped at the scene and tried to help Culkin, who was taken to the hospital, police said.

Detectives interviewed the motorist and determined that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that "no crime was committed," the LAPD reported.
