Matt Lauer Puts the Brakes On, and More Starry News

...In a world where shows are constantly throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, the "Today" show feature "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" has been sticking for many years, which makes it a rarity in a business given to zig-zagging every 3.7 seconds. But now the spring tradition, which finds "Today" co-host Matt Lauer at camera-ready points around the globe, is getting downsized due to the economy. Matt will instead be looking at wallet-nice trips around the ol' USA, which sounds good to us. Why not go to places that are within reach of the viewership this year? Make it cheap, make it fun, make it colorful. If anyone can do it, the sardonic-but-sensitive Matt L. can. Bon voyage, or, shall we say, happy trails.

..."Where in the World..." leads us to thoughts of "world," and its synonym "atlas," which is the name for the brand-new baby boy just delivered by Ms. Anne Heche and actor beau James Tupper. Atlas Heche-Tupper. Having an "A" name ourselves, we want to congratulate Atlas on a lifetime of always being able to find himself on lists fast. Well, lists that go by first name, anyway. Are we right, "A" people? It helps.

...If you want to know about other stars giving their babies celestial or planetary names, Celebrity Baby Blog has the full rundown.
