Meaty Deals: Inland Empire Restaurant Week

Slater's 50/50, EAT Marketplace & Eatery, and dozens more jump in.

MEAL DEALS: "Bucket lists," as a concept, became oh-so-trendy with the rise of social media, where entire sites sprung up to serve as repositories of where people want to go and what they want to do and when they want to do it by. But bucket lists aren't all about cliff diving and hiking the Outback; they can take on a smaller, local, and entirely do-able feel, on a whole other everyday level. "Everyday" isn't to lessen those lists, it is simply to imply that a person's wishes might well be found on the front of their refrigerator vs. a social media site. Take restaurants we want to visit. We stick coupons and ads under magnets on the fridge door, as reminds to get to those places, but time and again we order pizza from the place down the block. Restaurant weeks help shake us from that reverie, and remind us that our fridge is positively littered with eateries we've been meaning to try, if only for time and money. The money part is definitely helped by a restaurant week, which typically rounds up dozens -- or hundreds -- of restaurants, all of which put out some of their best dishes for a low prix fixe rate. The Inland Empire is up next, and the savories/sweets should address all of those fridge-door desires.

LIKE... Slater's 50/50 in Rancho Cucamonga is launching a few new dishes for Inland Empire Restaurant Week, which runs from Friday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 26. Think Where There's Smoke There's Fire, a burger that boasts a fried egg and brioche, among other tasties, and think Maple Bourbon Bacon Wings. And think discount prices: The lunch menu is $15, and dinner is thirty bucks.

MORE GOODIES AROUND THE I.E.: Cafe Sevilla of Riverside, Mariscos La Sirena of Ontario, and zpizza of Claremont are all participating. And The Pines Steakhouse of Highland. And Pappas Artisanal of La Verne. And Eat Marketplace of Temecula. And, and, and... your restaurant bucket list is about to be whittled.
