NBC4 and Telemundo 52 Kicks Off Clear the Shelters on August 18

NBC4 Southern California and Telemundo 52 Los Angeles announced the return of their award-winning pet adoption campaign Clear the Shelters.™ Launching now and culminating on Saturday, August 18, the stations’ annual pet adoption initiative will include participation of 65 local shelters and rescue locations throughout Southern California offering a reduced adoption fee of $20.

On August 18, NBC4 and Telemundo 52 will broadcast live from several shelters beginning with NBC4’s Today in LA morning news at 7 a.m., live reports throughout the day, and success stories and highlights on the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

To give viewers more opportunities to adopt at the reduced fee, the public can take advantage of the $20 adoption fee in advance as well on Saturday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bella Terra, 7777 Edinger Ave. in Huntington Beach, and on Sunday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Citadel Outlets, 100 Citadel Dr. in Los Angeles.

Last year, NBC4 and Telemundo 52’s Clear the Shelters™ campaign resulted in more than 11,500 pet adoptions across five counties, making it the largest single day pet adoption in Southern California. Since 2015, more than 150,000 pets have been adopted through Clear the Shelters™, an initiative spearheaded by NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.
