On May 24, 2018, NBC4 and Telemundo 52 unveiled their news camera permanently positioned atop the Battleship IOWA in San Pedro. Viewers will now enjoy views of the legendary ship and the Port of Los Angeles for many years to come.
NBC4 Weathercaster Fritz Coleman, also a veteran, was the MC of the ceremony while Meteorologist Belen De Leon sang the national anthem (watch here). The Today in LA morning news team, including Co-Anchors Adrian Arambulo and Daniella Guzman, Meteorologist Shanna Mendiola, and Traffic Anchor Alysha Del Valle were also on-hand.
NBC4 President and General Manager Steve Carlston alongside Telemundo 52 President and General Manager Celia Chavez spoke at the event, with additional remarks by Councilman Joe Buscaino and Jonathan Williams, President and CEO of the Battleship IOWA Museum.
