NBC4 Southern California continued its support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign in 2016 as the local media sponsor of this national movement. The station's involvement brings awareness to America’s leading health threats - heart disease and stroke.
During National Heart Month in February, NBC4 anchors participated in Wear Red Day, while “Make a Simple Change” PSAs featuring NBC4 news anchors sharing heart health tips aired throughout the month. Watch the PSAs here.
In addition, news anchor Colleen Williams served as the Masters of Ceremonies of the Los Angeles Rock the Red Music Benefit on April 28 in Los Angeles, and South Bay reporter Hetty Chang hosted the South Bay Go Red for Women luncheon in Manhatten Beach on May 13.
This year marks the 12th year of the Go Red For Women movement. Thanks to the efforts of Go Red For Women, 300 fewer women are dying per year and over 670,000 lives have been saved. For more information visit www.heart.org and southbaygored.heart.org.
