NBC4 Reporter Kim Baldonado Welcomes ‘Little Sister' at Comcast NBCUniversal Mentoring Program

On January 25, 2017, NBC4 Southern California Reporter Kim Baldonado participated in the launch of Comcast NBCUniversal's  Beyond School Walls workplace mentoring program with the nonprofit organization Big Brothers, Big Sisters at the Universal Studios lot.

A San Gabriel Valley native, Baldonado has been a longtime volunteer mentor for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, mentoring youth on the importance of higher education for several years.

The Beyond School Walks program introduces a unique multigenerational component where "Littles" from Rio Vista Elementary School in North Hollywood are matched with North Hollywood High School "Bigs," and those Bigs are then paired with NBCUniversal employee mentors.

The mentoring program is in 17 cities across the country with nearly 400 Comcast employees mentoring youth, helping them beat the odds and many becoming the first in their family to go to college.
