Congratulations to Esmeralda Cisneros, journalism student at Cal State Fullerton who received this year’s NBC4-Vicki Vargas Scholarship for excellence in journalism on May 16, 2014.
The scholarship was established more than 10 years ago by NBC4 to recognize an outstanding student majoring in journalism at the university.
Cisneros is a sophomore and student leader at the College of Communications Latino Communications Initiative to develop a workforce that is prepared to work in the industry by offering courses and certificates on Latino-oriented communication studies.
NBC4 Orange County Bureau Chief and Reporter Vikki Vargas has been with the station for more than 30 years and covers the region's major news stories weekdays for NBC4 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
