New Drilling in Baldwin Hills: Following a story last month about…

Following a story last month about PXP Corporation's plans to tap as many as 50 new or existing wells a year for the next 20 years around Los Angeles comes news that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted last night to back drilling around Baldwin Hills. Via the Los Angeles Times: "The unanimous vote effectively clears the way for Plains Exploration & Production Co., or PXP, to drill 24 wells this year, starting in a month. The plan allows for 600 new wells over the next 30 years in the Baldwin Hills area." While the county receives millions in tax revenues, opponents to the drilling cite concerns about health issues, damage to their homes, and more.
