Oh Boy, It’s the Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl opened its 91st season tonight by inducting Reba McEntire and Chaka Khan into its Hall of Fame.

Julie Andrews hosted the event  and Khan and McEntire performed along with Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

And guess what happens at the end? Fireworks. Yep, add those to our list of favorite Bowl things that don't happen on stage.

The Hollywood Bowl and its iconic shelled stage has graced that particular spot since 1922 meaning that, in a way, it has helped write the history of modern music and performance. Is that too grandiose to say or not quite grandiose enough? We'll vote the latter.
