On the Fritz: Coleman Is a Stand-Up Kind of Guy

NBCLA's much-loved weatherman turns funnyman, Aug. 19-22

Almost every major newspaper in Southern California has named broadcasting icon Fritz Coleman the "Best Weathercaster" in the state, but the former stand-up comic does more than keep you informed -- he keeps you in stitches.

On Aug. 19-22, the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood will present "On the Fritz: An Evening with Fritz Coleman." The honorary mayor of Toluca Lake will talk television news, weather, Los Angeles, living in the public eye and "a certain late night talk show on NBC," followed by any number of other topics when he takes audience questions.

Coleman has performed at The Improv, The Ice House and other Southern California comedy clubs. He's won four Emmy Awards for his work on NBCLA comedy specials and series, and contributed to "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
