Suspect in One-Man Crime Wave Identified

Police Monday identified a parolee wanted for questioning in connection with recent residential burglaries in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

Los Angeles police identified the man as Daniel Perez, 28, who is on parole for burglary. Investigators want to talk to Perez about a number of burglaries that occurred in October, three of them on Oct. 16, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

About 10 a.m. that day, a burglary occurred in the 800 block of Gretna Green Way in West Los Angeles. During the investigation, detectives recovered a cell phone that had been dropped, which had been taken in a burglary in Santa Monica about an hour earlier, the LAPD reported.

A fingerprint check led investigators to suspect that Perez was involved in the burglaries, and in a burglary later that evening in West Los Angeles, police said.

Perez is described as a Latino, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.   Anyone with information about the case was urged to call LAPD Detective Robert Guervara, at (310) 444-1523; or the 24-hour number (877) LAPD-24-7.
