People Named Oscar, You're in Luck

It's Oscar time at Tussauds. And Oscars will benefit.

Oscar has always been the Gorgonzola of first names.

Very tasty, but really strong. One needs some power to carry the name off, some dignity, oodles of oomph. Think Oscar the Grouch. Oscar Wilde. And the band of baby Oscars coming up through the ranks (we're meeting more and more).

And then there's Oscar season, which we are just about in. To celebrate the Academy Awards, and to honor the men (and a few women, we hope) with the famous first name, Madame Tussauds Hollywood is waiving admission for people named Oscar.

An ID will need to be shown at the ticket counter, of course.

Inside, look for the 40-figure line-up of past Oscar winners, done in the famous Tussaudsian wax. And bask in your absolute Oscarness as you stroll, and the cash you saved. The deal's on through Sunday, March 7th, the day of the Academy Awards.
