Police Bust “Major Player” in Dogfighting Scene

Los Angeles police said Monday they have made two arrests and rescued 17 dogs in the breakup of a dogfighting operation.

Police said the dogfighting outfit was a major player in the illegal training and breeding of animals for fighting.

Of the 17 dogs, many were scarred and injured, and all were suffering from severe dermatitis due to fleas.

Police Chief William Bratton and other officials are expected to provide more details about the operation during a news conference later Monday.
