Pop-Ups: Jack Spade Next In Line

Apartment Number 9 is gearing up for its most extensive collaboration to date, with the impending launch of a pop-up store dedicated to Jack Spade. The men's answer to accessories label Kate Spade, the brand is launching a clothing collection this season—one that will be showcased in its entirety at the Beverly Hills boutique come September 3.

But it won't just be felt totes, cabled cardigans and corduroy pants that will fill the space. Jack Spade's New York store is known for being a sort of cabinet of curiosities, the brand will be bringing a selection of comedy albums, "metal detector finds", and Halloween costumes along for the ride. And, as if this weren't enough, they've enlisted a host of their friends to chip in as well, with objects curated by comedienne Phyllis Diller, designer/blogger Mister Mort, artists Jason Polan and Brian Rea, 826 LA's Echo Park Time Travel Mart, and the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. (which trades in "high quality crimefighting merchandise"). The shop will remain open for a full two months (through October 31), during which time Jack Spade will also be hosting a "Transcontinental Correspondence Chess Match" between the New York and LA boutiques. Needless to say, we're looking forward to this one.
