Pump Up the Volume, Help Save Pandas

A SoCal company sells panda-esque speakers in support of pandas in the wild.

A Westlake Village electronics manufacturer is partnering with Pandas International to help save the less than 1,600 pandas left in the wild.

Accessory Power created GoGroove's pal portable speaker systems in the shape of adorable pandas, and with each purchase, 5 percent of the profits go to the panda group.

So how is the performance? Great.

One of the featured speakers is the "Panda Pal," a portable, compact speaker that provides clear volumes, a 3.5mm audio cable about 12-inches long and is powered by either 3 AAA batteries or a USB power cable that's easily stowed around the device.

The speaker line also includes a larger, portable speaker called the "Mama Panda Pal" that includes a nifty way of adjusting the volume by simply touching the Panda's left ear to decrease and the right ear to increase volume.

Although the "Mama Panda Pal" is larger than the "Panda Pal," it is still quite mobile and weighs a light 2.2 pounds. It also measures just over 8 inches and provides a standard 3.5mm audio input, powered by either an AC adaptor or 4 AA batteries.

Both "Panda Pal" and "Mama Panda Pal" are available online at accessorygenie.com. The "Panda Pal" is priced at $19.99 and the "Mama Panda Pal" is priced at $39.99.
