ECHO PARK: The casual neighborhood spot Restaurant 15, with its $15 prix fixe menus and Top Chef contestant, is going through some growing pains after only one year. One of the original partners is out and a new owner is in, which means it may change concepts and chef Alex Eusebio may or may not stay on. The timing couldn't be worse: When Top Chef airs in November, Eusebio is poised to get all sorts of exposure for himself and the little restaurant that could. While things are still vague, we know for sure that Restaurant 15 will remain open as it is until escrow closes at the end of October. After that, yet to be seen. And that points to a larger issue: Can Echo Park just not support these new bistros like Restaurant 15 and Lot 1, which is already a shell of its former self after Josef Centeno left?
